Mars is half the diameter of Earth's and 1/10 the mass of Earth. The main components of the atmosphere are: CO2 (95%), nitrogen (2.7%), argon (1.6%) and oxygen (<0.15%), however, the atmospheric pressure is 1% of Earth's (it is the same as Earth's at an altitude of 35 km). The surface temperature of Mars fluctuates, dropping to about −133 degrees C during winter at the poles and reaching +27 degrees C in warm weather at the equator.
