The painting depicts a still life with blue and red flowers and fruits. Jan van Os, the creator of the artwork, was influenced by the style of Amsterdam painter Jan van Huysum, who was active about forty years earlier. Unlike Huysum, Van Os composed his still lifes with a light area in the middle. The painting was created between approximately 1775 and 1800 and is housed in the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands.
