During cell replication, mutations often occur which can lead to cancer. The image shows a human colon cell during replication. The cell nuclei are marked in blue, and the zones of stronger DNA replication are shown in green. Incorrectly replicated areas are colored in red, and the gamma-H2AX protein was used to detect these areas.
