In 1977, two twin spacecraft probes - Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 - were launched. They are the first human-made objects in interstellar space. Voyager 1 is about 160 times farther than the Sun, making it the farthest spacecraft. The signal (traveling at the speed of light) takes more than 22 hours to reach Earth. Both spacecraft are still functioning and sending us signals.
